‘Oh no’, cried the certified bathroom designer! Black, white and grey, have I died and been reincarnated to a 50 year old Architect. The brief was as robust as the client’s staunch preferences. There is no greater contrast than black and white. When you put black on white it demands attention and bears it’s soul. No room for errors with this enormous bathroom, tiled to the ceiling in an opulent home with a demanding pallet. The secret is perfection in scale. You can read about that somewhere else, as it is a huge topic in itself. Just take a look at the images as the age-old adage goes; a picture paints a thousand words. A balanced approach between matt and gloss strategically placed to soften rather than bounce, and reflect rather than absorb are details in the designer’s mind that no body can appreciate until fully realised with the completed project. To those who understand what that ramble was all about and to those who do not. Just look and ponder is all the designer has to say about the aesthetics of this bathroom. If you too would like to attempt this you will need craftsmen not builders and lots of trust in your designer.
